Colombia Decaf Roast:Dark If you're enjoying it onThis Excelso grade coffee from the Huila region of Colombia is decaffeinated using what is called an EA process. EA is ethyl acetate, a naturally occurring ester commonly found in bananas and produced by fermenting sugars. The coffee beans soak in a solution of ethyl acetate and water, where the EA extracts the caffeine over time while preserving the beans inherent flavors.
